Live Review: Eddie Walker at the Salutation, Doncaster
Eddie Walker came along to play for us tonight, it being his first gig in the town for over twenty years apparently. Blues pickers in my opinion come from two places; it's either the United States of America or the North East of England. Eddie - think in terms of Van Morrison meets Doc Watson meets an Ooopa Loompa - and I don't mean to be rude by that comment (Van Morrison is okay really) gave us a night absolutely jam-packed with country blues classics from the repertoir of the likes of Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Willie McTell, Mississsippi John Hurt, The Reverend Gary Davis as well as one or two others with normal names as well.
